In my search for a Linux distro, I happened across CachyOS. It seems to be getting a lot of hype right now. It’s an Arch Linux based distro that optimizes the software found in the arch repos which is supposed to lead to a more performant OS.
As I’m waiting on my new refurbished laptop to arrive, I decided to give CachyOS a test drive on my current laptop. I had some installation issues. For some reason, if there’s already an OS on the hard drive you’re trying to install CachyOS to, it fails to delete the partitions and create the new partition scheme. I had to use GParted to delete all the partitions first. It took me a few tries to realize this though. It was several frustrating hours.
